Self Portrait

Most of my life I've liked photography. However, the 35mm medium kept me from venturing deeper. I got my first digital camera a few years ago. it was a point and shoot. I started experimenting with its manual mode which left me wanting more control. Two DSLRs later and here we are.

I always thought there are two types of fascination with photography, one that deals with the science of photography and the other is the artistic interest. Experimenting with light, exposure, and processing is what draws me most to photography. I try to take shots that are intriguing and pleasing at the same time. All the photographs you'll see here have had no post processing manipulation. All shots are taken in RAW format and digitally processed using several types of software depending on the tool I need. Despite that, I normally do everything I can to minimize the processing I have to do for a shot. I employ physical filters and lenses to get most of what you see, and I hope you like it.

Taking after my father, I turned out a Canon fan. I've also taken quite some shots with my first digital camera the Konica Minolta Dimage 600 which is an excellent and sturdy point and shoot. However, as I mentioned I had to graduate and of course Canon was my first choice. So, in my pursuit of the perfect shot I've managed to accumulate the following gear:

  • Canon EOS 5D
  • Canon EOS 20D
  • Canon EOS Digital Rebel XT (350D)
  • Canon EF 16-35mm f2.8 L
  • Canon EF 24-70mm f2.8 L
  • Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II
  • Canon EF-S 18-55mm f3.5-5.6
  • Canon EF 70-300mm f4-5.6 IS USM
